Stitch! (スティッチ!, Sutitchi!) is an exciting anime TV show from Walt Disney Pictures. It's like a new adventure based on the popular movie Lilo & Stitch and the TV series Lilo & Stitch: The Series. This show takes place in the future, after the original stories. It first aired in Japan in October 2008. In Stitch!, the main human character is a Japanese girl named Yuna, who takes the place of Lilo. The story is set on a make-believe island near Okinawa, Japan, instead of Hawaii.

Meet the Characters

This show features many familiar faces and some new ones! Here are some of the main characters you'll meet:

Stitch

Stitch is Experiment 626, a small, blue alien who is very strong and sometimes mischievous. He loves his friends and family. In the Japanese version of the show, Stitch is voiced by Kōichi Yamadera.

Yuna

Yuna is a brave and kind Japanese girl who becomes Stitch's new best friend. She lives on a beautiful island and helps Stitch learn about friendship and family. Yuna is voiced by Motoko Kumai.

Jumba and Pleakley

Jumba Jookiba is the smart, mad scientist who created Stitch and many other experiments. Pleakley is a one-eyed alien who often helps Jumba. They are both funny and caring friends to Stitch and Yuna. Jumba is voiced by Shōzō Iizuka, and Pleakley is voiced by Yūji Mitsuya.

Dr. Hämsterviel

Dr. Jacques von Hämsterviel is a small, evil alien who wants to capture all of Jumba's experiments. He is often trying to cause trouble for Stitch and his friends. Hiroshi Yanaka voices Hämsterviel.

Gantu

Captain Gantu is a big, strong alien who works for Dr. Hämsterviel. He tries to catch Stitch and the other experiments, but he usually fails. Gantu is voiced by Unshou Ishizuka.

Other Friends and Experiments

You'll also see other experiments like Angel (Experiment 624), who is Stitch's girlfriend, voiced by Keiko Toda. Reuben (Experiment 625), who loves making sandwiches, is voiced by Kōji Ochiai. Many other fun and unique experiments appear throughout the series!

Production Team

The project planning for Stitch! was led by Masao Maruyama. The show was produced by Yasuteru Iwase and Satoru Yoshimoto. The main story ideas were put together by Shoji Yonemura and Yuuko Kakihara.

Animation and Direction

The director who guided the animation was Masami Hata. The animation itself was created by a company called Madhouse. The show was a team effort from TV Tokyo, Madhouse, and Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Opening Song

The opening song for the show is called "Ichariba Ohana" (イチャリバオハナ, Ichariba Ohana)." It is performed by the band BEGIN.
