Stories of the Sylvanian Families is a fun children's television series from England. It was directed by Jo and Martin Pullen and made by FilmFair. This show is the second animated series based on the popular Sylvanian Families toys. What makes it special is that it's the only Sylvanian Families show made using stop motion animation. This means characters are moved slightly and photographed frame by frame to create the illusion of movement.

The series first aired in Britain in 1988. It has four episodes, and each one is narrated by the well-known storyteller Bernard Cribbins. Stories of the Sylvanian Families also introduced three new animal families that weren't in the earlier 1987 animated series or the later 2007 animated series. All four episodes were released on VHS video in 1999.
