History

Stovertown has an interesting past. It was first planned out in 1832 by a person named Samuel Stover. He was the one who decided where the streets and lots would go. The community was then named "Stovertown" after him.

For many years, Stovertown had its own post office. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office was open from 1850 until 1902.

Historic Church

One important building in Stovertown is the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. This church is very old and special. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized by the United States government as a place that is important to history.
