• Where the Name Comes From: Stratford got its name from a famous town in England called Stratford-upon-Avon. This English town is well-known as the birthplace of the famous writer William Shakespeare.
• Old Post Office: For many years, Stratford had its own post office. It opened in 1850, the same year the town was officially planned. The post office served the community for about 50 years before it closed down in 1900.
