Success is a small community in Texas County, Missouri, in the United States. It's a place that doesn't have its own local government, which is why it's called an unincorporated community. You can find it about twelve miles northwest of Houston, right where two roads, Route 17 and Route 32, meet.
A Look Back at Success's History
People first started living in the area that would become Success in 1880. The very first settlement, or town site, is now known as "Old Success." It's located about one mile north of where Success is today. A post office was opened in Success in 1880, the same year people began settling there. The founders probably chose the name "Success" to help promote a special place nearby. This place was a "mineral spa," which is like a health resort where people would visit to use natural spring water, often believed to have healing properties.

The Success R-VI School District helps young students learn. It teaches children from kindergarten up to the eighth grade (K-8). After eighth grade, students from Success go to high schools in nearby towns. They attend high schools in Houston, Plato, or Licking to continue their education.
