Suchiapa is a city and a local government area, called a municipality, in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas. It is located in Mexico.

People and Area
In 2010, the total population of the Suchiapa municipality was 21,045 people. This was an increase from 15,890 people in 2005. The municipality covers an area of 355.2 square kilometers (about 137 square miles).
The city of Suchiapa itself had a population of 16,637 people in 2010. Besides the main city, the municipality also has 143 smaller towns or villages. The largest of these smaller places was Pacú, which had 2,440 residents in 2010. Pacú is considered a rural area.
