The name "Sucré" is a French word. It means "sugared" or "sweet."
The shop was also called a "Dessert Boutique" or "A Sweet Boutique." A "boutique" is a French word for a small, fancy shop. These shops often sell special items, like unique clothes or, in this case, delicious desserts!
Where Was Sucré Located?
Sucré had its main shop on Magazine Street in New Orleans. This area is known as the Garden District.
The company also had three other shops. These were in the French Quarter of New Orleans and in Metairie, Louisiana. Sucré also sold many of its treats online. They shipped their products all over the United States.
The Story of Sucré
Joel Dondis owned Sucré. He was a well-known restaurant owner in New Orleans. He used to be a chef for Emeril Lagasse.
Joel Dondis worked with a talented pastry chef named Tariq Hanna. Together, they opened Sucré.
When Sucré first opened in 2007, it was unique. It was the first restaurant in New Orleans that focused only on desserts.
What Did Sucré Sell?
Sucré offered many different kinds of sweets. They served fancy plated desserts with special decorations. They also sold other treats like:

Changes and Closure
In 2018, Tariq Hanna left Sucré. He sold his part of the company. Joel Dondis then became the only owner of Sucré Dessert Boutique.
Sucré closed its doors on June 17, 2019.
