Sucre is a town and a municipality in northern Colombia. It is part of the Sucre Department.
This town is found in a special area called the Mojana subregion. This area is often below sea level. Because of this, it can get flooded easily.
Sucre was once home to the famous writer Gabriel García Márquez. One of his most well-known books, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, is based on real events that happened in this very town.
