Sud-Ubangi is one of the 26 provinces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A province is like a large region or state within a country. Sud-Ubangi is located in the northern part of the country, right next to the Ubangi River. The main city and capital of Sud-Ubangi is Gemena.
About Sud-Ubangi Province
Sud-Ubangi is a relatively new province. Before the year 2015, it was actually part of a much larger area called Équateur Province. In 2015, the Democratic Republic of the Congo changed its administrative divisions, creating 26 smaller provinces from the original 11. This change helped to better manage different parts of the country.
Geography and Location
The province gets its name from the important Ubangi River, which forms part of its border. Rivers are very important for travel, trade, and for people to get water. Sud-Ubangi is known for its natural beauty and is home to many different kinds of plants and animals.

Sud-Ubangi is divided into several smaller areas called territories. Each territory has its own main town or city. The territories that make up Sud-Ubangi province are:
