Sudarshana Chakra facts for kids
The Sudarshana Chakra (सुदर्शन चक्र) is a special spinning, disk-like weapon. Its name means "disk of good vision." It has 108 sharp edges and is used by the Hindu god Vishnu. Vishnu is often shown holding it in one of his four hands. He also holds a conch shell (called a shankha), a mace (Gada), and a lotus flower (padma).
Long ago, in ancient texts like the Rigveda, the Chakra was a symbol of time. Later, it became known as a powerful form of Vishnu. It was used to defeat enemies. In the Tamil language, it's also called Chakkrath Azhwar, which means "Ring of God."
