Suhail Chandhok is a well-known Indian television presenter and sports commentator. He works for Star Sports and has talked about many different sports like cricket, hockey, kabaddi, and football. He also acted in a Tamil movie called Veeram with actor Ajith Kumar.

Suhail comes from a family that loves sports. His father, Vicky Chandhok, was a champion in Indian rallying. His older brother, Karun Chandhok, is one of only two Formula 1 racing drivers from India.

Early Life and Education

Suhail went to Sishya School in Chennai for his early education. After that, he moved to Australia. There, he studied at the University of Adelaide, earning a degree in Management and Marketing. He was the first Indian cricket player from his university to receive the Oxford-Cambridge Half Blue Award. This award is given for great achievements in sports.

Sports and Acting Journey

Suhail grew up in a family passionate about sports. He even played cricket for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Indian Premier League for two years. Sadly, his cricket career ended early because of serious knee injuries and several surgeries.

After cricket, Suhail found a new passion in acting. He started making short films online under the name "Johnny Vetrivel." These videos became quite popular on YouTube. One famous South Indian actor, Ajith Kumar, even noticed his work.

From Cricket to Commentary

Suhail had a role in the Tamil movie Veeram, where he played one of Ajith Kumar's younger brothers. After his acting experience, he became a Sports Presenter and Commentator for Star Sports. He now covers many sports, including cricket, football, hockey, and Pro Kabaddi.

He has hosted and presented major cricket events. These include the ICC World Cup 2015, ICC T20 World Cup 2016, and ICC Champions Trophy 2017 for Star Sports. He also covered the IPL on Hotstar. Beyond cricket, he has been a presenter and commentator for the Hero Indian Super League Football and the Celebrity Classico Football. He has also provided English commentary for the Hero Hockey India League and the Pro Kabaddi League.

Suhail has also worked on international sports events. He covered the Rio Olympics in 2016, the global FIA Formula E Series, and the French Open tennis tournament.

Personal Life

Suhail Chandhok is the son of Vicky Chandhok and Chitra Chandhok. His father, Vicky, was a former racing and rally driver. He also served as the president of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship. Suhail's older brother is Karun Chandhok, who is a former Formula 1 driver and now a commentator.

Suhail married Trishya Screwvala on January 19, 2017. Trishya is the daughter of Ronnie Screwvala, a well-known Indian businessman. Their wedding was a private event held at the TAJ Mahal Palace in Mumbai. A reception followed at the Bombay Turf Club. Many celebrities and business leaders attended the celebrations.
