Sukashitrochus lyallensis is a very tiny sea snail. It is a type of mollusc called a gastropod, which means "stomach foot." These snails live in the ocean and belong to the family called Scissurellidae.

Where This Snail Lives

Sukashitrochus lyallensis is mostly found around New Zealand. It lives in the ocean at different depths. You can find it in waters as shallow as the coast or as deep as 240 meters (about 787 feet).

What Its Shell Looks Like

The shell of Sukashitrochus lyallensis is quite small. It is about 1.5 millimeters tall and 1.8 millimeters wide. To give you an idea, that's less than the width of a penny! This snail's shell is a bit bigger than some other similar snails, like Sinezona iota and Sinezona laques.
