History
Sulphur has a history connected to transportation. It used to be a stop on the Louisville and Cincinnati Railroad. This railroad was very important for moving people and goods a long time ago.
The community was first known as Sulphur Station because of its train stop. Later, in 1882, the local post office changed its name to simply Sulphur.
