Exploring Sumacàrcer's History
The Palace of the Counts of Orgaz
One of the most interesting places to visit in Sumacàrcer is the Palace of the Counts of Orgaz. This amazing building was built a long time ago, around the 1400s. It shows what a typical country palace for rich families in Valencia looked like.
This palace used to belong to the Orgaz family. Some members of this important family were born and lived right here. The palace has a square shape with a courtyard in the middle. You can still see parts of the old town and a Renaissance-style entrance door.
