Sumbe, once known as Novo Redondo, is a city located in west-central Angola. It serves as the main city and capital of the Cuanza Sul Province. In 2014, about 279,968 people lived there.
Geography of Sumbe
The city of Sumbe is located in a large area. To the north, it reaches the Queve river. To the west, it extends to the Balombo river. The Atlantic Ocean forms its western border. To the east, Sumbe is next to the Conda Municipality.
Sumbe's Climate
Sumbe has a dry tropical climate. This means it is usually warm and does not get a lot of rain. The hottest months are from January to April. The coolest months are July and August.
