Sund Rock is like an underwater playground for sea life. It's known for having many different kinds of creatures. You might see big Lingcod fish or even a giant Pacific Octopus. There are also cool Wolf Eels hiding in the rocks. Smaller creatures like colorful nudibranchs, waving anemones, and interesting sea cucumbers also live here.

What Makes Sund Rock Special?

Divers love Sund Rock because of its unique underwater features. It has two main "walls" that go deep into the water. These walls can be as deep as 70 to 80 feet (about 21 to 24 meters), depending on the tide. Some other walls go even deeper, more than 100 feet (over 30 meters)! One of these is called the "fish pen wall."

You can also find a spot called the "fish bowl." This area is like a reef and is full of sea creatures. There's even a large sunken boat near the north wall and a smaller wrecked boat between the two main walls. These wrecks become homes for many fish and other animals.

Diving into Sund Rock

Many people come to Sund Rock to go scuba diving. It's a great place for both new and experienced divers.

Protecting Sund Rock

Sund Rock is a conservation area. This means it's a protected place where nature is kept safe. Because it's protected, you are not allowed to hunt or collect anything from the water. You can only look and enjoy the amazing underwater world.

There are two main ways to get into the water at Sund Rock. One way is to take a short, somewhat steep walk down to the water. Then, you swim a bit to reach the main dive spots. This swim can be about 250 to 600 meters (around 820 to 1,970 feet). Another way is to use a private beach nearby, which might be easier for some.
