Supercheap Auto is an Australian store that sells parts and accessories for cars. It started in 1972 as a business that sent products by mail. Its first store opened in Brisbane in 1974. Today, Supercheap Auto has more than 300 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

How Supercheap Auto Started

Supercheap Auto was created by Reg and Hazel Rowe in 1972. They began by selling things like battery chargers and other car items from their home. They sent these products to customers through the mail.

In 1974, Reg and Hazel opened their very first store. It was located in a place called Fortitude Valley. Since then, the company has grown a lot. It now has over 300 stores in Australia and New Zealand.

Different Store Sizes

Supercheap Auto has different types of stores. Some are very big, like the Superstores. These large stores are about 1000 square meters. You can find them in places like Oxenford and Alice Springs.

There are also smaller stores, which are about 400 square meters. Most Supercheap Auto stores are around 700 square meters. This means they have different sizes to fit different areas.

Supercheap Auto and Racing

Supercheap Auto has been a big supporter of car racing. From 2005 to 2020, they were the main sponsor for a famous race called the Bathurst 1000. This meant the race was known as the "Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000."

The company has also sponsored many racing teams. They supported teams in the Supercars Championship since 1997. Some of these teams include Steven Ellery Racing and Tickford Racing.

After 2020, Supercheap Auto changed its racing sponsorships. They became a partner for the TCR Australia Touring Car Series in 2021. They also continued to support the Bathurst 1000 by sponsoring specific cars in the 2021 and 2022 races.
