About Susan Fletcher's Early Life
Susan Fletcher was born in Birmingham, England. When she grew up, she went to the University of East Anglia. There, she studied Creative Writing, which helped her learn how to write amazing stories and books.
Susan Fletcher's Writing Career
Susan Fletcher's very first book was called Eve Green. It was published in 2004 by Fourth Estate, which is a part of HarperCollins publishers. This book tells the story of an eight-year-old girl who moves to the countryside in Wales.
Eve Green quickly became very popular and won several important awards. These included the Whitbread First Novel Award, the Authors' Club Award, and the Betty Trask Award. It was also considered for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. The book was even chosen for Channel 4's Richard and Judy Summer Reading List, which helped many people discover her work.
Susan Fletcher has continued to write many successful novels. Some of her later books have also been nominated for other big awards. These include the John Llewellyn Rhys Award and the Romantic Novel of the Year Award. Her book Witch Light won the Saint Maur en Poche Award in France in 2013.
