Family and Music
In 1880, Susan married another musician. His name was Charles Abraham Trew. He was an organist and also a composer. An organist is someone who plays the organ, a very large musical instrument. Two years later, in 1882, Susan and Charles had a son. They named him Arthur Charles Trew. Guess what? Arthur also grew up to become a composer, just like his parents!

Susan Codd Trew wrote many pieces of music. Her music was published by several companies. These included E. Ashdown, Boosey & Co., Landy & Co., and Schott Music. This means her music was printed and sold so people could play it. You can even find some of her original music today. It is kept safe at the British Library.
