What is Sutter Pointe?
Sutter Pointe is a type of place called a planned community. This means it's carefully designed before it's built. Everything from homes to parks and schools is part of the big plan.
How Big Will It Be?
The plans for Sutter Pointe are huge! They include building around 17,500 homes. The community will also create about 20,000 jobs for people.
A large part of the land, about 3,600 acres, is set aside for businesses and jobs. Another 1,000 acres will be used for things that help the community. These include parks where kids can play, schools for learning, and open spaces for nature. There will also be other important community buildings.
When Was Sutter Pointe Approved?
The idea for Sutter Pointe had to be approved by local leaders. The Sutter County Board of Supervisors gave their approval for the project on June 30, 2009. This was a big step to allow the development to move forward.
Later, a specific part of Sutter Pointe called Lakeside at Sutter Pointe also got approved. This happened in November 2020.
Who Will Build the Homes?
Several companies are involved in building the homes in Sutter Pointe. Some of the home construction companies planning to build here include Lennar and Winn Communities. These companies will help bring the thousands of new homes to life.
