In May 1927, Charles Lindbergh made the first solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean. His plane was called the Spirit of Saint Louis.
A Swedish American (which is Svenskamerikan in Swedish) is an American person whose family came from Sweden. Many Swedish Americans are descendants of people who moved from Sweden to the United States during a big migration in the 19th century. A lot of these families settled in the state of Minnesota.
Who are some famous Swedish Americans?
Many Swedish Americans have become well-known in different fields. Here are a few examples:
- John Ericsson: He was a brilliant engineer.
- Greta Garbo: She was a famous movie actress.
