Sweetwater, Missouri facts for kids
Sweetwater is a small place in Newton County, Missouri. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
You can find Sweetwater where two roads, Missouri Route H and Route HH, meet. It is about five miles southeast of a larger town called Neosho. Other nearby places include Aroma, which is 2.5 miles north, and Boulder City, which is two miles southeast on Route H.
Sweetwater's Past
Sweetwater once had its own post office. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail.
The Sweetwater post office opened in 1894. It stayed open for 13 years, closing in 1907. The community got its name from a nearby stream. This stream is called Sweetwater Branch creek.
