Swettenham Meadows has a special connection to a person named Thomas Clyde Hewlett. He loved visiting and supporting the Meadows. Because of his support, he was given a special honor on April 26, 1972. He was made Baron Hewlett of Swettenham. This title was a way to recognize his dedication to the area.
