Sydney to the Max is a fun American comedy TV show that started on Disney Channel on January 25, 2019. It was created by Mark Reisman. The series stars Ruth Righi, Ava Kolker, Jackson Dollinger, Christian J. Simon, Ian Reed Kesler, and Caroline Rhea.

What is Sydney to the Max About?

The show follows Sydney Reynolds, a 12-year-old girl living in Portland, Oregon. She lives with her dad, Max, and her grandma, Judy. Sydney is trying to figure out middle school life with her best friend, Olive.

What makes the show special is that it also shows flashbacks to 1992. These flashbacks are about Sydney's dad, Max, when he was 12 years old. Young Max and his friend Leo work at an arcade in a shopping mall. The cool part is that Sydney and young Max often find themselves in very similar situations, even though they live in different times!

How the Show Was Made

Disney Channel decided to make Sydney to the Max on September 6, 2018. They planned for it to start in early 2019. Mark Reisman created the show and also worked as the main writer and producer.

The show was filmed using a multi-camera setup, which means several cameras record the scene at once. This is common for comedy shows.

The main actors are Ruth Righi as Sydney, Ian Reed Kesler as adult Max, Christian J. Simon as Leo, Ava Kolker as Olive, Caroline Rhea as Judy, and Jackson Dollinger as young Max. The show is produced by It's a Laugh Productions.

Sydney to the Max first aired on January 25, 2019. The show's theme song, "Stay the Same," was written by Kay Hanley, Michelle Lewis, and Dan Petty. Ruth Righi and Dan Conklin sing it.

The show was popular, so Disney Channel decided to make more seasons! They announced a second season on May 23, 2019. Even before the second season started, they announced a third season on November 21, 2019.
