Takashi Onishi (大西 貴, Onishi Takashi, born October 16, 1971) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. After his playing career, he also became a football manager.

Takashi Onishi's Football Journey

Takashi Onishi was born in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, on October 16, 1971. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Fukuoka University, he began his professional career.

Playing for Top Clubs

In 1994, Onishi joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a team in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. He played in many matches during the 1995 season. However, he did not get to play in 1996.

The next year, in 1997, he moved to another team called Kyoto Purple Sanga. He played a few games for them.

Returning Home to Ehime FC

In 1998, Takashi Onishi made a special move. He joined his hometown club, Ehime FC. At that time, Ehime FC was playing in the Regional Leagues. This was a lower division.

His team worked hard and was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2001. This was a big step up for the club.

Becoming a Player-Manager

While playing for Ehime FC, Takashi Onishi took on a new role. In 2001, he became a "playing manager." This meant he was both a player on the field and the coach of the team. He continued to play and manage until the end of the 2002 season. After that, he retired as a player.

Takashi Onishi's Coaching Career

After stopping his playing career in 2002, Takashi Onishi continued to manage Ehime FC. He led the team as their manager until 2004. His time as a player-manager and then full-time manager helped shape the club.
