Takashi Onishi (大西 貴, Onishi Takashi, born October 16, 1971) is a former Japanese football player. He was a defender during his playing career.
Playing Football
Takashi Onishi was born in Ehime Prefecture, Japan, on October 16, 1971. After finishing his studies at Fukuoka University, he started his professional football journey.
In 1994, he joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a well-known club. He played in many games during the 1995 season. However, in 1996, he did not get to play in any matches.
The next year, in 1997, Takashi moved to another team called Kyoto Purple Sanga. He still found it hard to get playing time there.
In 1998, he decided to join his local club, Ehime FC. At that time, Ehime FC was playing in the Regional Leagues. The club worked hard and was promoted to the Japan Football League in 2001. Takashi Onishi played for Ehime FC until the end of the 2002 season, when he retired as a player.
Becoming a Coach
While playing for Ehime FC in 2001, Takashi Onishi also took on a new role. He became a "playing manager," which means he was both a player and a coach at the same time. He continued to manage the club until 2004, even after he stopped playing football himself.
