Takashi Umeda (梅田 高志, Umeda Takashi, born May 30, 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented Midfielder who played for several clubs in Japan's professional leagues.

Takashi Umeda's Football Journey
Takashi Umeda was born in Kakamigahara, Gifu, Japan, on May 30, 1976. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.
Early Career and First Clubs
In 1995, Takashi Umeda joined a club called Seino Transportation. This team played in the Japan Football League (JFL). The JFL was a top football league in Japan at that time. He quickly became an important player for the team. By 1997, he was a regular starter. However, the Seino Transportation club stopped playing at the end of 1997.
Moving to Oita Trinita
In 1998, Umeda moved to another JFL club, Oita Trinity. This club later changed its name to Oita Trinita. He continued to play many matches for his new team. In 1999, Oita Trinita was promoted to a new league called the J2 League. This was a big step up for the club.
Success in the J.League
Even though he played less often in 2000, Umeda's team, Oita Trinita, had great success. In 2002, they won the J2 League championship. This win meant they were promoted to the J1 League in 2003. The J1 League is the highest level of professional football in Japan. From 2003, Takashi Umeda became a regular player again. He played as a defensive midfielder, helping his team protect their goal.
Loan to FC Gifu and Return
In 2007, Umeda's playing time at Oita Trinita decreased. So, in 2008, he went on loan to FC Gifu. This club was based in his hometown area and had just been promoted to the J2 League. He played regularly for FC Gifu during that season. In 2009, he returned to Oita Trinita. However, he did not play many matches that year. Oita Trinita was then relegated back to the J2 League in 2010.
Final Season and Retirement
When Oita Trinita moved back to J2, many of their main players left. This gave Takashi Umeda more chances to play. He played many matches as a regular player in 2010. After the 2010 season, Takashi Umeda decided to retire from professional football. He had a long and successful career, playing in various leagues in Japan.
