Takayoshi Yamano was born in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. After finishing college, he joined a local football team. This team was called Yanmar Diesel. He joined them in 1978.
His team, Yanmar Diesel, had a great year in 1980. They won the league championship that year. They also won the JSL Cup twice. These wins were in 1983 and 1984.
In 1985, Takayoshi Yamano moved to another team. This team was called Osaka Gas. He played for Osaka Gas until 1991. After that, he stopped playing professional football.
