About Takuro Nishimura

Early Life and College Football

Takuro Nishimura was born on August 15, 1977, in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. He started playing football at a young age. From 1993 to 1995, he was part of the Mitsubishi Yowa youth team.

Later, he attended Kokushikan University in Setagaya, Tokyo from 1997 to 2000. During his time there, he played for the university's football team. He helped his team win the All-Japan Prime Minister Cup, which is a big achievement for college football teams in Japan.

Professional Career in Japan

Nishimura began his professional football journey with J1 League club Urawa Reds in 2001. Even though he was part of the team, he did not play in any league games for them. Urawa Reds finished second in the 2004 season.

In 2004, he moved to Omiya Ardija, a rival team of Urawa Reds. He played a key role in helping Omiya Ardija get promoted from the J2 League to the top-tier J1 League in 2004. He became a regular player for Omiya Ardija, often playing as a right-side defender.

He continued to play for Omiya Ardija in the J1 League. While he played less in 2006, he became a regular starter again in 2007. However, his playing time decreased significantly in 2008.

Playing in the United States

In April 2009, Takuro Nishimura decided to try playing football in the United States. He signed with the Portland Timbers, a team that was part of the USL First Division at the time.

After playing for the Timbers, he joined Crystal Palace Baltimore on February 11, 2010. He played for them during the 2010 season.

Return to Japan and Retirement

In 2011, Nishimura returned to Japan. He joined Consadole Sapporo, a club in the J2 League. He did not play much for Consadole Sapporo during that season.

At the end of the 2011 season, Takuro Nishimura decided to retire from professional football.

National Team Experience

Takuro Nishimura was part of Japan's youth national football team system. He played at the Under-14 level, representing his country. However, he was never called up to play for the senior Japan national team.

Playing Style

Takuro Nishimura was known for being a smart and versatile player on the field. Even though he was not a very tall player, he was very good at moving around the field. He would often run forward from his defensive position to help his team attack.

His accurate passes and crosses into the penalty area created many chances for his teammates to score goals. He was a tireless player who always worked hard for his team.
