The Story of Gióng
The film "Tale of Gióng the Saint" shares an old Vietnamese legend about a young hero named Gióng. This story comes from Vietnamese mythology. Gióng was a hero from Phu Dong village.
The legend says that Gióng was a very unusual child. He could not speak, smile, or walk until he was three years old. One day, the country was in danger from invaders. The King asked for brave people to help fight.
When Gióng heard this, he suddenly spoke up and asked to join the fight. He then grew incredibly fast, becoming a giant. He used a bamboo stick and wore iron armor to defeat the invaders. After saving his country, Gióng flew up into the sky, becoming a saint. This film brings his heroic tale to life.
