Talmage City, also known simply as Talmage, was a small place in northeast Newton County, in the state of Missouri. It was an unincorporated community, which means it didn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it was part of the larger county. You could find it right next to Missouri Route 37, about 1.5 miles northwest of a town called Wentworth.

A post office is a place where you can send and receive mail. Talmage had its very own post office! It first opened in 1878. This meant that people in Talmage could easily send letters to friends and family, and get mail delivered right to their community. The post office stayed open for many years, until 1895.
