Tamar Schlick started her college journey at Wayne State University. She earned her first degree in mathematics in 1982. After that, she went to the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. There, she earned her Ph.D. in applied mathematics in 1987. Her teacher was a famous scientist named Charles S. Peskin.
After finishing her Ph.D., Dr. Schlick did more research. She worked at NYU and the Weizmann Institute of Science. In 1989, she came back to New York University. She became a professor there and has been teaching and researching ever since.
