Tamika Upton, born on March 17, 1997, is an amazing Australian professional rugby league player. She plays as a fullback (fullback) for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL Women's Premiership. Before joining the Broncos again, she played for the Newcastle Knights. She also played for teams like the CQ Capras and Burleigh Bears in other rugby league competitions.

Early Life and Sports
Tamika Upton was born in Rockhampton, Australia. She grew up in Central Queensland and started playing rugby league as a child. Her first games were in Blackwater. Tamika is also of Indigenous Australian descent.
Before becoming a rugby league star, Tamika played other sports. She was very good at touch football. She even played for the Australian national team, called the Emus, in 2017. She was also a co-captain for the Queensland Cowboys in the NRL Touch competition. Tamika also played netball for a local team called the Capricorn Claws.
Rugby League Journey
In 2018, Tamika joined the Yeppoon Seagulls women's team. She played as a five-eighth in the Rockhampton District competition.
Joining the Broncos (2019)
On July 15, 2019, Tamika Upton signed with the Brisbane Broncos NRL Women's Premiership team. She made her first game for the Broncos in Round 1 of the 2019 NRL Women's season. She played as a winger (wing) in their 14–4 win against the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Later that year, on October 6, she played as a fullback (fullback) in the Broncos' Grand Final win. They beat the Dragons 30–6 to win the championship.
Big Moments in 2020
In February 2020, Tamika played for the Broncos in the NRL Nines tournament. She was so good that she was named in the Team of the Tournament. She also played for the Central Queensland Capras and Souths Logan Magpies in other competitions.
In Round 1 of the 2020 NRL Women's season, Tamika scored three tries in the first half! This amazing feat helped the Broncos win against the New Zealand Warriors. On October 25, she played fullback and scored a try in the Broncos' 20–10 Grand Final win over the Sydney Roosters. This was her second championship with the Broncos.
Tamika also made her State of Origin debut for Queensland on November 13. She scored two tries in their 24–18 win against New South Wales.
Continued Success (2021)
In 2021, Tamika played for the Burleigh Bears in the QRL Women's Premiership. She was the fullback and scored two tries in their Grand Final win. On June 25, she played fullback for Queensland again, helping them win 8–6 against New South Wales. She also re-signed with the Broncos for the 2021 NRL Women's season.
Moving to the Knights (2022)
On May 18, 2022, the Newcastle Knights announced that Tamika Upton had joined their team. She made her first game for the Knights in Round 1 of the 2022 NRLW season. It was special because she played against her old team, the Brisbane Broncos.
In the 2022 Semi Final, Tamika scored two tries against the St. George Illawarra Dragons. This made her the first Knights player to score more than one try in a game. The Knights won 30-6 and made it to the Grand Final.
Tamika was named the player of the match in the 2022 NRL Women's Grand Final. She scored a try in the Knights' 32–12 victory over the Parramatta Eels. This was her third championship title!
Dally M Winner (2023)
In April 2023, Tamika signed a new contract with the Knights until the end of 2027. She had an incredible year, winning the Dally M Medal for Player of the Year. She also won her second Karyn Murphy Medal, which is given to the Grand Final Player of the Match. This was after the Knights won back-to-back championships.
Return to the Broncos (2024-2025)
In November 2024, Tamika left the Knights due to family reasons. In December, it was announced that she had rejoined the Brisbane Broncos. In June 2025, Tamika Upton was named as a co-captain for the Broncos, sharing the role with Ali Brigginshaw.
