Tarata is a charming town located in the Cochabamba Department of Bolivia. It is the main town, or capital, of the Esteban Arze Province.
Tarata is surrounded by other towns like Arbieto, Santa Rosa, and Tiataco. It is especially famous for its delicious home-made cheese and tasty sausage!

Climate in Tarata
Tarata has a varied climate because of its elevation. It sits about 2,775 meters (9,104 feet) above sea level. This means it can get quite warm during the day and cool down a lot at night.
Temperature and Seasons
The warmest months in Tarata are usually October and November. During these months, temperatures can reach over 27 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit). The coolest months are June and July, when the average temperature is around 13-14 degrees Celsius (55-57 degrees Fahrenheit).
Even though it can get warm, the nights, especially in May, June, and July, can be very cold. Temperatures can drop below freezing, sometimes even to -6 degrees Celsius (21 degrees Fahrenheit).
Rainfall in Tarata
Tarata experiences a wet season and a dry season. The wet season runs from December to March, with January being the rainiest month. During this time, the town gets a lot of rain, which is important for farming.
