The train tracks that once ran past this depot were first built in 1888 by another company called the Orange Belt Railway. Trains used these tracks for many years. The very last time a train used this line was for some special trips on March 8, 1987. These trips went to nearby Dunedin and back.

In the 1990s, something cool happened! The old train tracks were changed into a part of the Pinellas Trail. This trail is now a popular path for walking, running, and biking.
