Tatsunori Arai (新居 辰基, Arai Tatsunori, born December 22, 1983) is a Japanese former professional football player. He played as a forward during his career.

Early Life and Youth Football
Tatsunori Arai was born in Tobetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, on December 22, 1983. Before becoming a professional player, he developed his skills playing youth football for the team Consadole Sapporo.
Professional Playing Career
Starting in the J-League
Arai began his professional football journey in 2002. He joined the J1 League club Consadole Sapporo, which was the same club he played for as a youth. The J1 League is the top professional football league in Japan.
He made his first appearance as a forward in April 2002. However, Consadole Sapporo finished last in the 2002 season. This meant they were moved down to the J2 League, which is the second-highest league. In 2003, Arai played in many matches, often coming in as a substitute forward.
Moving to Other Clubs
In October 2004, Arai moved to Shizuoka FC. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level football leagues in Japan.
In 2005, he joined Sagan Tosu, another team in the J2 League. At Sagan Tosu, Arai became a very important player. He was one of the top goal scorers for the team in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
Return to J1 League
In 2007, Tatsunori Arai returned to the J1 League. He joined JEF United Chiba. He played regularly for this team over three seasons. However, JEF United Chiba was moved down to the J2 League at the end of the 2009 season.
In 2010, Arai moved to Shonan Bellmare. This team had just been promoted to the J1 League. He made his first appearance for Shonan Bellmare on March 6, 2010, in a match against Montedio Yamagata.
Final Season and Retirement
In 2011, Arai returned to the J2 League and rejoined Sagan Tosu. This was his second time playing for the club. He played his final season with Sagan Tosu and retired from professional football at the end of the 2011 season.
