Tatsuya Mochizuki (望月 達也, Mochizuki Tatsuya, born April 20, 1963) is a famous Japanese football player and coach. He was born on April 20, 1963. He played as a midfielder and later became a manager for several football clubs.

Playing Football

Tatsuya Mochizuki started his football journey in his hometown of Shizuoka, Japan. After finishing Shimizu Higashi High School, he moved to the Netherlands to play professionally. From 1982 to 1986, he played for two Dutch teams: Haarlem and Telstar.

In 1986, Mochizuki returned to Japan. He joined a team called Yamaha Motors. This team later became known as Júbilo Iwata. He played for them until 1990.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing football, Tatsuya Mochizuki began a new career as a coach. He worked with the Júbilo Iwata football club for some time. In 2002, he left to coach the youth team at Avispa Fukuoka.

Managing Teams

Mochizuki became a manager for different teams in the J.League, which is Japan's professional football league.

  • In 2007, he became the manager of Vegalta Sendai. His goal was to help the team move up to Division 1, but they did not succeed that season. He then left the team.
  • He also worked as a coach and even as a temporary manager for other teams. These teams included Shonan Bellmare and Kawasaki Frontale.
  • Since 2018, he has been the manager for ReinMeer Aomori.
