Tetyana Mykhaylivna Reshetnyak (Ukrainian: Тетяна Михайлівна Решетняк; born 29 September 1984), known as Tayanna, is a talented Ukrainian singer, actress, and composer. She is famous for her powerful voice and unique style.

About Tayanna

Her Early Life

Tetyana Mykhaylivna Reshetnyak was born in Chernivtsi, a city in Ukraine. When she was eight years old, her parents encouraged her to start music school. She began learning the accordion but left after about a year.

Later, when she was 13, Tatyana started taking singing lessons. First, she sang in a group, and then she had private lessons. In 2001, she had a special chance to sing with a group in Lviv before Pope John Paul II. One of her first big achievements was winning third place at the Black Sea Games festival in Skadovsk.

Tatyana has three brothers. Two of them are twins who work as bakers, and one of them also sings. Her other brother, Misha Marvin, is a well-known singer in Ukraine. Her parents are named Natalia and Mikhail.

Joining Hot Chocolate

In 2008, Tatyana became a member of a girl group called Hot Chocolate. She sang with them for three years. In 2011, she decided to leave the group.

On "The Voice of Ukraine"

In 2014, Tayanna tried out for the fourth season of The Voice of Ukraine. However, none of the coaches chose her. That summer, she released a music video for her song "Znayu i veryu" (which means "I know and believe").

She returned to The Voice of Ukraine in 2015. This time, all the coaches turned their chairs for her during the blind auditions! She sang a traditional Ukrainian song called "Kray miy ridnyy kray" ("My native land"). Tayanna chose Potap as her coach. She made it all the way to the final show of the fifth season, finishing in second place.

Her Music Journey Continues

In 2017, Tayanna competed to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. She sang her song "I Love You". She tied for first place with another group, O.Torvald, but she did not get enough public votes to win.

On 17 November 2017, she released her second album, "Trymay mene" (meaning "Hold me"). She worked with producer Alan Badoev on this album, which had seven songs in Ukrainian. In December 2017, Tayanna performed her song "Skoda" ("It's a shame") at the M1 Music Awards 2017. She won the "Proryv" (Breakthrough of the Year) award.

In February 2018, Tayanna tried again to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest. She competed in Vidbir 2018 with her song "Lelya". Many people thought she would win, but she came in second place, losing by just one point.

In the spring of 2018, she went on a tour across Ukraine. On 19 May 2018, she attended the Golden Firebird Awards. There, she won awards for "Clip of the Year" and "Singer of the Year". In December, she was a special guest at the Woman of the third millennium Awards. She sang her new song "Fantastychna zhinka" ("Fantastic woman") and received an award.

Tayanna announced in November 2018 that she would try one more time for Eurovision. In January 2019, she qualified for the semi-finals of Vidbir 2019 with her song "Ochi" ("Eyes"). However, on January 22, she announced that she would not continue in the competition. She still released the song on February 8.

In May 2021, Tayanna was chosen to announce Ukraine's jury points during the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
