Taylor's Corner is a very old house in Woodstock, Connecticut. It's located at 880 Connecticut Route 171. This house was built a long time ago, in the 1700s. It shows off the building styles from the colonial and Federal periods. These styles were popular when America was just starting. Taylor's Corner was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Today, it is a bed and breakfast, a place where people can stay overnight.

What is Taylor's Corner Like?
Taylor's Corner is in a quiet, countryside area. It sits west of the main village of Woodstock. You can find it on the south side of Somers Turnpike (CT 171). This road bends right where it meets Pulpit Rock Road.
The House's Design
The main part of the house is 2+1⁄2 stories tall. This means it has two full floors and a smaller half-floor, usually in the attic. It is made of wood and has a roof that slopes down on two sides. A big chimney stands in the middle of the house.
How the House Grew
The house has grown over time. There are extra parts and wings that extend from the left side. The main part of the house was built using a strong timber frame. Its walls were made with thick planks of wood. Experts think the west side of the house is older than the east side.

When you go inside, you'll find a central chimney plan. This means the main chimney is in the middle of the house. There's a small entrance area right inside the front door. From this area, a narrow, winding staircase leads up to the second floor.
