History of the Church
The story of Teddington Methodist Church involves several buildings over the years.
Early Buildings
The very first Teddington Methodist Church was built in 1859. It was located on Clarence Road. This original building was later known as Craig Hall. Today, that site has been redeveloped into homes.
A new church building was opened in 1879. This new church was built on the site where the current church stands today. It served the community for many years.
Rebuilding After World War II
During the Second World War, the church building from 1879 was sadly destroyed. A bomb hit it in 1944, causing significant damage. After the war ended, the community worked to rebuild their church. The current building was completed and opened in 1952. This means the church building you see today has been standing for over 70 years.
