Tega Brain is an artist and engineer from Australia. She teaches about digital media at New York University (NYU). Tega Brain is known for her unique art projects. Tega Brain's Education

Unfit-Bits

In 2015, a company offered discounts if people shared their fitness data. This data came from devices like a Fitbit. Tega Brain and engineer Surya Mattu created a website called Unfit-Bits. This website showed how to trick fitness trackers. It helped people create fake fitness data. This way, they could get discounts even if they did not exercise a lot. This project was part of an art show in 2019.

New York Apartment

In 2020, Tega Brain worked with Sam Lavigne. They made an art piece called "New York Apartment." It collected all the real estate listings in New York City. Then, it showed them as one giant, imaginary apartment.

Get Well Soon!

Also in 2020, Tega Brain and Sam Lavigne worked together again. They created a website called "Get Well Soon!" This website collected over 20,000 comments. These comments came from fundraising campaigns on GoFundMe. The website listed all the comments in alphabetical order. The New York Times newspaper said this project was like a collection of hopes and fears. It showed the sadness, love, and help people give each other.
