Telestial kingdom facts for kids
The Telestial Kingdom is a place described in the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is considered the lowest of three main "kingdoms" or levels of glory that people can go to after they die. These kingdoms are part of what members of the Church call the Plan of Salvation. This plan teaches that God has a way for everyone to return to live with Him, but where they go depends on the choices they make during their lives.
What is the Telestial Kingdom?
The Telestial Kingdom is a place of glory, but it is the lowest of the three main kingdoms. Even though it is the lowest, it is still a place of happiness and light. It is much better than living in darkness or sadness. People who go to the Telestial Kingdom will still be able to feel God's love and blessings.
Where Does it Fit In?
In the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are three main kingdoms of glory:
- The Celestial Kingdom is the highest kingdom. It is where people who have lived very righteous lives and followed all of God's commandments can go to live with God and Jesus forever.
- The Terrestrial Kingdom is the middle kingdom. It is for people who lived good lives but did not fully accept or follow all of God's teachings.
- The Telestial Kingdom is the lowest of the three main kingdoms. It is for people who did not choose to follow God's commandments during their lives.
Who Goes There?
According to the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Telestial Kingdom is for those who did not accept Jesus Christ or follow His teachings while on Earth. This includes people who made choices that were not good, or who did not want to live by God's laws. Even so, these individuals will still receive a blessing and a place of glory, because God is merciful and loves all His children.
