Tepecoyo is a small town, also called a municipality. It is located in the La Libertad department of El Salvador. Tepecoyo is about 30 minutes away from Santa Tecla.

Tepecoyo's Traditions and History

Tepecoyo is a very old town with many traditions. It is similar to other places founded by the Pipil. The Pipil are an indigenous group from El Salvador. This town was originally started by just four families.

The traditions and the people of Tepecoyo are special to this type of municipality. The town holds its main celebrations every year. These events happen from January 1st to January 6th. No matter what day of the week these celebrations fall on, they are always full of happiness. They also show a lot of the old and new traditions of the Maya and Pipil cultures.
