Teppei Nishiyama (西山 哲平, Nishiyama Teppei, born February 22, 1975) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder for several clubs in Japan and Brazil. Nishiyama is known for winning the Emperor's Cup with Bellmare Hiratsuka and the J.League Cup with Oita Trinita.

Teppei Nishiyama's Football Journey
Teppei Nishiyama was born in Kashiwa, Japan, on February 22, 1975. He started his football career at a young age. After leaving high school, he moved to Brazil. There, he joined the football club Criciúma in 1992.
Playing in Japan's Leagues
In 1993, Teppei returned to Japan. He joined a team called Fujita Industries. This team later changed its name to Bellmare Hiratsuka. He made his debut in 1994. Teppei played many games as an offensive midfielder and sometimes as a forward.
Winning Championships
With Bellmare Hiratsuka, Teppei achieved great success. The club won the 1994 Emperor's Cup, a major football competition in Japan. They also won the 1995 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. This was an important international club competition.
However, his playing time started to decrease in 1999. In 2000, he moved to Montedio Yamagata. This club played in the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest professional football league. He became a regular player for two seasons there.
Moving to Oita Trinita
In 2002, Teppei joined another J2 League club, Oita Trinita. He quickly became a key player for them. In 2002, Oita Trinita won the J2 League championship. This victory meant they were promoted to the J1 League in 2003. The J1 League is Japan's top professional football league.
From 2003 onwards, Teppei often played as a substitute. Even so, he appeared in many matches. In 2008, Oita Trinita won the 2008 J.League Cup. This was the club's first major title in its history.
In 2009, Teppei's playing opportunities became fewer. At the end of the 2009 season, Oita Trinita was moved back down to the J2 League. Teppei Nishiyama decided to retire from professional football at the end of that season.
