Teppei Nishiyama (西山 哲平, Nishiyama Teppei, born February 22, 1975) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder for several teams in Japan.

Teppei Nishiyama's Football Journey

Teppei Nishiyama was born in Kashiwa, Japan, on February 22, 1975. He started his football career in Brazil, joining the club Criciúma in 1992.

Playing for Bellmare Hiratsuka

In 1993, Teppei returned to Japan. He joined a team called Fujita Industries, which later became known as Bellmare Hiratsuka. He started playing for them in 1994. Teppei often played as an attacking midfielder or a forward, helping his team score goals.

During his time with Bellmare Hiratsuka, the club achieved great success. They won the 1994 Emperor's Cup in 1994. The team also won the 1995 Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 1995. However, by 1999, Teppei played less often for the team.

Moving to Montedio Yamagata

In 2000, Teppei Nishiyama moved to Montedio Yamagata, a club in the J2 League. He played regularly for them for two seasons, showing his skills on the field.

Success with Oita Trinita

Teppei joined another J2 League club, Oita Trinita, in 2002. He played a key role that year, and Oita Trinita won the league championship. This win meant they were promoted to the top league, the J1 League, starting in 2003.

From 2003 onwards, Teppei didn't always start every game. However, he still played in many matches, often coming on as a substitute to help his team. In 2008, Oita Trinita made history by winning the 2008 J.League Cup. This was the club's first major trophy ever!

In 2009, Teppei played less often. At the end of that year, Oita Trinita was moved back down to the J2 League. Teppei Nishiyama decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2009 season.
