Teruyoshi Ito (born August 31, 1974) is a famous Japanese footballer. He played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both attack and defense. Ito is known for his long and successful career in Japanese football. He played for many different clubs and also represented his country.

Teruyoshi Ito's Club Career Highlights
Teruyoshi Ito was born in Shizuoka, Japan. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.
Playing for Shimizu S-Pulse
In 1993, Ito joined Shimizu S-Pulse, a top club in Japan's J1 League. He quickly became a key player for the team. From 1995, he was a regular midfielder.
Shimizu S-Pulse achieved great success with Ito on the team.
- In 1996, they won the J.League Cup, their first major trophy.
- In 1999, the team finished second in the J1 League. Ito was even chosen for the "Best Eleven" award, which means he was one of the best players in the league that year!
- In 2000, S-Pulse won an Asian title, the 1999–2000 Asian Cup Winners' Cup.
- In 2001, they won the Emperor's Cup, another important Japanese trophy.
Ito played in every J1 League match from 2006 to 2008. He also received a Fair Play Award in 2007. He played for Shimizu S-Pulse until the end of the 2010 season.
Moving to Other Clubs
In 2011, Ito moved to Ventforet Kofu. This club had just been promoted to the J1 League. On July 16, 2011, Ito made history. He became the first player to play 500 matches in the J1 League!
Ventforet Kofu was relegated to the J2 League in 2012. But they quickly won the J2 League championship and returned to J1 the next year. Ito left Ventforet Kofu at the end of 2013.
After that, he played for AC Nagano Parceiro in the J3 League from 2014 to 2015. In 2016, he joined Blaublitz Akita. Then, in 2017, he moved to Azul Claro Numazu. He continued to play for Azul Claro Numazu, showing his dedication to the sport.

Playing for Japan U23
In July 1996, Ito was chosen for the Japan U23 national team. He played in the 1996 Summer Olympics. He played all three matches for the team.
He is most famous for scoring a goal against Brazil. Japan won that game 1-0, which was a huge surprise! This amazing win is known as the "Miracle of Miami" in Japan.
Playing for the Japan National Team
Ito played 27 times for the senior Japan national team between 1997 and 2001. He was also part of the team for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
