Tetyana Nylivna Yablonska (Ukrainian: Тетяна Ниливна Ябло́нська; born February 24, 1917 – died June 17, 2005) was a famous Ukrainian painter. She created many beautiful artworks. Her early paintings showed the daily life and work of Ukrainian people. A famous example is her painting called "Bread" from 1949.
Later, Tetyana Yablonska started painting nature. She used colors and shapes in a special way to show the beauty of landscapes. Some of these paintings include "Anonymous heights" (1969) and "Flax" (1977).
Early Life and Art Studies
Tetyana Yablonska was born in Smolensk, which was part of the Russian Empire. Today, Smolensk is in Russia. She studied art at the Kyiv State Institute of Art. She finished her studies in 1941. She learned from a well-known artist named Fedir Krychevsky.
Tetyana Yablonska loved painting very much. She continued to paint almost every day until she died. She even painted a small picture, called a pastel etude, on the day she passed away. This shows how dedicated she was to her art.
Important Roles and Awards
Tetyana Yablonska was not only an artist but also played a role in her country's government. She was elected as a member of the parliament of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic. This government body was called the Verkhovna Rada. She served there from 1951 to 1958.
She also joined important art groups. In 1944, she became a member of the Ukrainian Artists' Union. Later, in 1963, she joined the board of the USSR Artists' Union. In 1975, she became a member of the Academy of Art of the USSR. These groups were important for artists in the country.
Tetyana Yablonska received many awards for her amazing art.
- In 1982, she was given the special title "Peoples' Artists of the USSR."
- UNESCO named her "Artist of Year" in 1997.
- In 2000, the International Biography Centre in Cambridge called her "Woman of Year."
She also won several big prizes:
- The USSR State Prize (also known as the Stalin prize) in 1949 and 1951.
- Another State Prize in 1979.
- The Shevchenko state prize of Ukraine in 1998.
Tetyana Yablonska received high honors from her country. These included:

Tetyana Yablonska died in Kyiv on June 17, 2005. Her art continues to inspire many people. She also taught many students, including the artist Mikhail Turovsky. Her work is remembered for showing the life and beauty of Ukraine.
