Texas A&M University facts for kids
Texas A&M University is a big public university located in College Station, Texas. It has around 65,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in Texas. It was started in 1871.
Texas A&M is known for its "Corps of Cadets." This is a special program where students learn about leadership and military skills. It's one of only six schools in the United States with such a program. The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library, which holds many important papers and items from former President George H.W. Bush, is also located at Texas A&M.
Besides the main campus, Texas A&M has other locations. You can find them in Galveston, Laredo, Corpus Christi, and Texarkana, all in Texas. There is even a campus in Qatar, a country in the Middle East.
Sports at Texas A&M
The sports teams at Texas A&M are called the Aggies. They have 18 different teams that compete in various sports. These teams are part of the Southeastern Conference, which is a group of universities that play against each other.
