Texas House of Representatives

The Texas House of Representatives is an important part of the Texas Legislature. It is like the "lower house" of the state's law-making body. This group has 150 members. Each member represents a different area, or "district," in Texas.

These representatives serve for two years at a time. There is no limit to how many times they can be re-elected. The Texas House meets at the Texas State Capitol building in Austin, Texas. This is where they discuss and vote on new laws for the state.
