Life and Music Career
From Thailand to Sweden
Thaiboy Digital was born in a region of Thailand called Isan. He lived with his grandmother and step-grandfather. When he was five, he moved to Bangkok to live with his mother, who worked as a chef at the Swiss embassy. His mother, Aphantri, is half-black. Because of her background, she was sometimes treated unkindly at school in Thailand.
In 2003, his family moved to Sweden because his mother got a job as a chef for the Austrian embassy in Stockholm.
Starting in Music
As a teenager in Stockholm, Thaiboy Digital got involved in the city's music scene. He joined a group of artists that would later be called Drain Gang. He also worked with other local musicians, including Yung Lean.
In 2015, Thaiboy Digital had to leave Sweden and return to Thailand. This happened because his mother's work permit expired, and the Swedish immigration authority required him to leave the country. His friend, Yung Lean, tried to help him stay by starting an online petition.
Return to Thailand and Recent Work
After moving back to Bangkok, Thaiboy Digital continued to make music. He worked with local Bangkok artists like Younggu and Dandee. He also stayed a member of Drain Gang and recorded music with them from his apartment in Bangkok. He was part of their 2019 album, Trash Island.
In 2022, he released his second album, Back 2 Life. The album is about his journey of returning to music after a few quiet years.
He has also released music under the name DJ Billybool. His 2020 album My Fantasy World was inspired by famous DJs like Basshunter and Tiësto.
