History of Thales
Before 1895, this community was known by a different name: Hickory Grove.
A post office was first set up in Hickory Grove in 1879. However, it closed down just eight years later, in 1887. A new post office, named Thales, opened in 1895. This post office served the community for 14 years before it was also closed in 1909.
