Story Summary
The main character is a boy named Chance Henry. His father is an archaeologist, someone who studies old things. One day, Chance's dad accidentally wakes up a very old and evil mummy. This mummy does something terrible: it steals his father's soul!
To save his dad, Chance must be incredibly brave. He has to risk becoming a mummy himself. His journey takes him into the Egyptian Underworld, a mysterious place where ancient Egyptian gods and spirits live. Chance's goal is to rescue his father from this dangerous world.
The Movie That Wasn't
For a while, there were plans to turn The Anubis Tapestry into an animated movie. In 2008, a company called Blue Sky Studios bought the rights to make the film. They planned to call it Anubis.
A writer named David H. Steinberg started working on the movie's script. The film was even given a release date: March 23, 2018, by 20th Century Fox.
However, by June 2017, the movie was removed from the schedule. No one knew exactly why at the time. Later, in 2019, Disney bought Fox. Then, in February 2021, Disney announced that Blue Sky Studios would be closing down. This news meant that the Anubis movie was most likely cancelled for good.
